Scientist have proved and my Physical Education (P.E.) teacher say that the brain burns up a lot of calories or was it fat but its one of those so they do help you get more fit physically and mentally. Chess could be considered as a sport because it mentally challenging which make your brain think harder which makes it burns up calories or fat more than normal (unless the person is a complete imbecile who moves randomly). Also if both players are good players than it would help train them notice things quicker and more attentive. Also if the game goes on along time and people are moving their pieces fast they are exercising their arms just like how you would when you go bounce a basket ball. So Chess could be consider a sport and it does need a coach to teach you how to play Chess cause Chess is like the art of war if can think about it.
References :
Um, I'm not sure what your question is.

Guessing at it, chess has a strange physical element. In a long American Swiss system the third round seems to separate the physically fit from the coach potatoes.

Why? I don't know. Perhaps thinking uses up all the sugar in one's blood and one must start burning fat and chess players "hit the wall" like long distance runners.

That is just a hypothesis, though. I could be wrong.
References :
No idea what your asking. If your asking if there should be chess coaches, I would say no. I would say a chess "trainer" is a good idea but not a coach. A coach implies that they are going to be involved in their gameplay, and chess is about one person trying to outsmart another. As for a trainer, someone to review your games and let you know your mistakes, and also teach you new strategies, sure.
